This is a static yoga sequence (non-flow) where each posture is designed to get your body ready for the next posture. These postures all incorporate lengthening and stretching the muscles, while building strength. We practice most postures twice in order to give you the opportunity to go deeper into the posture on the second set, you’ll be able to see real progress in just a few classes. This class is always taught for beginners and advanced students, as postures are thoroughly explained and advanced cues are given to those who want to take things further.
If you're a complete beginner, we suggest starting with this class.
Vinyasa flow involves using flowing sun salutations to transition into postures. Matching your breath to your movements, you’ll be able to flow fluidly from one posture to the next. You'll find yourself getting comfortable flowing from one posture to the next and create your own beautiful expression in class. Beginner to advanced students are welcome, as modifications are always given so you can engage in your best practice.
Dynamic Flow with weights. Boost your metabolism and build lean muscle in this powerful, rigorous class. We integrate hand weights (dumb bells) into our standard flow, while adding strength training lunges, squats & bicep/tricep/shoulder reps This class is for all levels, as you can drop the weights at any time and modifications will always be given. However, we suggest attending a Dynamic Flow class so you're familiar with a powerful vinyasa flow.
Combining two styles of yoga, Yin Yang class begins with a gentle flow which matches movement to breath followed by relaxing Yin postures on the mat. Yin postures are held for an extended length of time - typically 2-4 minutes allowing for deep stretching into connective tissue with emphasis on the breath. Practised with low light and candles to gentle relaxing music.
Similar to the standard flow class with sun salutations, our Power class is a strong flow adding more advanced postures, binds and cardio blasts that will get the heart rate pumping - Power yoga is more 'athletic'. We flow to fun upbeat music in this rigorous, hot and sweaty class! Beginner to advanced students welcome, but we suggest you attend at least one vinyasa class prior to attending.
All postures are practiced on the floor, there are no standing postures in this popular and relaxing class. Postures are held for an extended length of time – typically 2-4 minutes to allow deep stretching into the connective tissue surrounding the muscles. Emphasis is on opening the hips and we use blocks to support and find comfort in our long held postures. We practise with soothing music and candles, lots of focus on the breath and guided relaxation so you feel more open and more relaxed as you leave this class.
